So today coming towards the end of my day in work I do my usual routine of firing up Google Maps, enabling the traffic layer, and decide which way home I’m going. I have a choice of either through the Birkenhead Tunnel or over Runcorn Bridge. Both routes were pretty clear so I decided on Runcorn Bride as it involves more motorway travel so normally faster.
I get home, open up Twitter and see that there’s been a crash involving a wagon in the Birkenhead tunnel. If I hadn’t of checked Google Maps, I would of probably gone through the tunnel approximately the same time as the crash, and who know’s?!
So, Google saved my life (maybe) 😉.
